“Plain & Simple” 1.25″ Width.

Chances are, you have clicked on this belt because you have noticed the rather attractive price! So, what’s the catch?

I am offering the “Plain & Simple” belts to give a quality alternative to mass produced, low standard high street belts at a similar price point.

What you do not get, is as much work as you would get in the rest of my belts. The edges are straight cut, not beveled and not burnished. The beveling and burnishing doubles the time it takes to make a handmade belt. It’s an attractive feature to have “round” edges over “square” edges, but it’s not essential.

What you DO get is a belt made of very high quality materials. The hardware is from our usual British supplier who have their own foundry in Walsall and the Vegetable tanned leather is sourced from West Yorkshire, just an hours drive from where I am based.

The price competes with belts offered from leading jeans manufacturers, but you are comparing high quality full grain vegetable tanned leather with the alternative……. several layers of low quality leather bonded together.

This is a slim 1.25″ width belt, so suitable for wearing with jeans as well as more formal trousers.

Sizing Guide

We make the belt for you, so will size it for you rather than using shop style generic sizing. The Aim is to determine your “Belt size” which is a different thing to your waist or trouser size. Once we have your belt size, we make your new belt so that it will fit you on the middle hole, giving you adjustment either way if ever needed.

 

There are two methods available to work out your belt size. Method 1, if understood and measured correctly, is by far the most accurate.

 

Method 1

Measure an existing belt.

We ask you to measure a current belt from the end of the leather strap where it meets/starts to fold around the buckle (not including the buckle itself) all the way down to the HOLE YOU USE MOST/FITS YOU BEST.

This is your belt size.

Please note: The belt size is usually around 2″ bigger than your jeans size.

 

Method 2

Add 3″ to your trouser size. For example, if you wear 32″ jeans, order a 35″ belt.

If in doubt over the belt size, go bigger, rather than smaller.

This method is not as accurate as method 1. However it maybe useful if you are buying the belt as a gift and know the recipients trouser size, but cannot measure one of their existing belts.
