If you are part of the “Denim Head” Community, you probably know exactly what this belt is. If you are not, please read the following carefully..

The Patina Belt is made using beautifully Vegetable Tanned leather from the butt of the hide. It is left natural, with ZERO colouring or finishing. What this does, is allow the leather to change as it absorbs its surroundings and ages uniquely according to the use it goes through.

The very pale appearance does not last long. The leather will darken and turn into a nice caramel colour early in it’s life as it is tanned by the sun, just like your skin could be. It will pick up oils from your skin, water marks and indigo from your jeans. You end up with a beautifully aged belt unique to you, the belt changes every time you use it, you go on a patina journey together.

To assist with the whole aging and patina we bevel the edges, but instead of burnishing them like we do with most of our belts, we leave the edges raw. This leaves loose fibres on the edge which help to pick up indigo sooner.

The Buckle, Keeper and Rivets are all British made natural brass which will match the leather with it’s patina and very much joins in with the journey.

This is a solid yet supply belt which will be quite fun to own. It is for the more “casual and rugged” look. This is not for a formal or refined look.

With longevity in mind, the belt features 7 one inch spaced tear drop buckle holes, so it should always fit you as you grow or shrink with age. It is finished off with a simple English end point.

Sizing Guide

We make the belt for you, so will size it for you rather than using shop style generic sizing. The Aim is to determine your “Belt size” which is a different thing to your waist or trouser size. Once we have your belt size, we make your new belt so that it will fit you on the middle hole, giving you adjustment either way if ever needed.

There are two methods available to work out your belt size. Method 1, if understood and measured correctly, is by far the most accurate.

Method 1

Measure an existing belt.

We ask you to measure a current belt from the end of the leather strap where it meets/starts to fold around the buckle (not including the buckle itself) all the way down to the HOLE YOU USE MOST/FITS YOU BEST.

This is your belt size.

Please note: The belt size is usually around 2″ bigger than your jeans size.

Method 2

Add 3″ to your trouser size. For example, if you wear 32″ jeans, order a 35″ belt.

If in doubt over the belt size, go bigger, rather than smaller.

This method is not as accurate as method 1. However it maybe useful if you are buying the belt as a gift and know the recipients trouser size, but cannot measure one of their existing belts.

If you are still in doubt, feel free to email chris@chadwickbelts.co.uk to discuss.

Customisation

If you would like your initials adding to the back of the buckle area (not visible when worn) please state this in the comments box when ordering.
